Covid & Arizona: Changes in the Mask Mandate
On Thursday March 25, 2021, Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona lifted the mask mandate which allows restaurants, bars and nightclubs to open their doors without any restrictions. Gatherings of 50 or more people are also permitted. In addition, registration for the Covid-19 vaccines includes anyone over the age of 16.
Although the statistics show a decline in Covid cases in AZ, the use of masks and social distancing is still highly encouraged. The difference is that now the decision of whether masks need to be worn in public establishments will be left solely to the business owners.
With all of the recent changes, one has to wonder how they will affect the Real Estate business. The National Association of Realtors offers assistance to brokers for establishing guidelines for the work place. Some of the pointers are listed below:
- Virtual Showings
- Limited, safe in-person tours
- Learn the state and local restrictions if a property is vacant vs tenant occupied as there may be different precautions for each scenario.
- Require all showings by appointment only
In light of the ongoing changes pertaining to Covid-19, It is best to stay informed and use your own judgment.
